Yet another tutorial from me today!!!

Make this Icon! Turn:

Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us TO Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us

1. Open a new 100 x 100 image

2. Open your image and resize it. Drag it into your 100 x 100 image. Sharpen, smooth, whatever you usually do.
I got:
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us

3. Duplicate the base and set to overlay.
I got:
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us

4. Now go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation. Set to:
Settings
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us

5. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Colour.
Set to the following:
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us

Remember - it depends on the image for what settings you set the selective colour. Don't be afraid to play around with it ok!!!

6. Duplicate the selective colour layer.

13. Now to add some text, brushes gradients - whatever you like!!

And you are done!
Finished Product:
Free Image Hosting at ImageShack.us

Other icons made using this technique:

I originally did this colouring for a header i made:

I liked it so much i decided to make a tut!
I hope you liked this tut. If you did, feel free to check out the many others that can be found at my journal: http://pippins-mcgee13.livejournal.com/

Have fun and please comment! Friend me!

oh that is sad. Yeh the problem with that tut is the lack of pics that are compatible. *tears*

oh well, maybe you will have some better luck with my other tuts! I have 31 of them!!

*huggles back!*

Lovely n_n

I got this:

as my result; though I had to change the overlay layer to screen or else the whole avatar would have been way too dark.
