1. Open a new 100 x 100 image.

2. Open up your chosen picture.

3. Using the Polygonal Lasso tool, select your image, by outlining around the outside. Copy it and paste it into your 100 x 100 image.

4. Open this texture (I am sorry I don't know where i got it!)


5. Place it behind your picture. Duplicate it (Ctrl + j) and set the above layer to Linear Burn. (These layers are still below your pic)

6. Set your pic to Linear Light.

7. Now go to blending options ( Layer >Layer Style> Blending Options)

8. Go to Drop Shadow.
Set to these settings (sorry if it's confusing!)

Blend Mode : Normal (White)
Angle: 28 degrees
Distance: 3 px
Spread: 100 %
Size: 3 px

Leave everything else the same

I got:


9. Add some text now.
I used dear Joe four - size 12
Colour : #723200
