Wanna make an Icon like this?

Look no furthur!!
1. Open a new 100 x 100 image
2. Open your image and resize it. Drag it into your 100 x 100 image.
I got:

3. Duplicate the image (Ctrl + J). Set this layer to overlay.
4. Duplicate the overlay layer and desaturate it (Ctrl + Shift + U)
I got:

5. Go yo Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Colour Balance.
Set to:
MIDTONES
Cyan/Red
-100
Magenta/Green
0
Yellow/Blue
+100
HIGHLIGHTS
Cyan/Red
0
Magenta/Green
0
Yellow/Blue
+20
SHADOWS
Cyan/Red
+35
Magenta/Green
0
Yellow/Blue
+61

6. Go to your very base layer (Step 2) and select random strips,copy them and paste on the top layer. Spread these strips out slightly. (Sorry if that is vague- i'll show you what it should look like in the next step) You can (Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal) some of the strips if you like- i like doing that on a couple of them.
With the topmost layer selected press (Ctrl + E) until all the layers containing strips by themselves are merged. (Let me know if that confuses)
7. With the strips layer selected, go to Image > Adjustments > Colour Balance. Set to:
MIDTONES
Cyan/Red
+100
Magenta/Green
-29
Yellow/Blue
+1
HIGHLIGHTS
Cyan/Red
28
Magenta/Green
-7
Yellow/Blue
-30
SHADOWS
Cyan/Red
17
Magenta/Green
0
Yellow/Blue
49
I got:

7. Now make a new layer. Select an area at the bottom of your image and fill with white.
I got:

8. Now copy bits of the image from step 7 and paste back over the white space. You'll see what i mean:

9. Now I added some text. I wrote 'RACHEL' in Carnivalee Freakshow. Half was #191782 and half was #7B002D
And you are done!
