This is awesome. The tutorial is so simple, but creates a beautiful effect! Added to memories for future fun.

The coloring of my icon required me to deviate from the tutorial a little bit, but here's my result:

hey i was browsing and found this entry.
well i know this is for icons, but can it work for pictures?
i have a picture of a friend and i that i would love to lighten up because i'm sure it'd be very cute!
i don't do any editing with icons or pictures or anything so if you could help, that'd be great <3

An icon is a picture. Same thing. :)
Kate[info]pureskies on July 8th, 2006 03:42 am (UTC)
yes, it works just the same with icons and pics generally, when dealing with colouring. Just follow the same steps, deviate from them if you think something different will have a better effect.

Good luck with the art! Feel free to ask me any questions!

Ok, first, I love the tut :). Helped me lighten up some caps I've been meaning to use for icons.

Second, I was just wondering. What happened to steps 9-12? XD
Kate[info]pureskies on July 9th, 2006 02:48 am (UTC)
omg sorry! That is just my poor numbering skills skills. lol.

Thanks for the love! Lightening caps is thankfully easy when you know how. It took me ages to figure it out so it works for lots of things.

:-)
